After the first few games of the season the rankings see a bit of a shakeup.

1. Boston Celtics- The Celtics start out the season with wins over the Cavs, Bobcats, and Bulls. With the Lakers faltering the Celtics move up to number 1. Rondo was supposed to try to negotiate a deal with the team on Sunday. Last week: 4

2. Orlando Magic- A 3-0 start for the Magic with a nice win over the Raptors on Sunday. 17 3 pointers in one game? Yes this team can shoot. Last week: 3

3. Denver Nuggets- Carmelo is playing out of his mind. Wins over Utah, Portland, and Memphis. I spoke to soon saying they might not be as good this year, they could be better. Last week: 7

4. Los Angeles Lakers- A bad game against the Mavericks isn’t going to drop the champs out of the top 5 just yet. Last week: 1

5. San Antonio: A loss against a good Bulls team won’t affect their standing this week. But with games against the Jazz, Blazers, and Raptors this week there may be some movement coming up. Last week: 5

6. Phoenix Suns: They are undefeated but their best opponent may have been the Clippers who are winless. Their real tests start the next three games. Last week:10

7. Cleveland Cavaliers: Lost to Boston and Toronto and the wins were against the Bobcats and Timberwolves. I’m just confused as to how good they are right now. Last week: 2

8. Dallas Mavericks: I’ll ignore the opening night stinker against the Wizards after the beat both LA teams. Last week: 8

9. Miami Heat:  They’re undefeated so maybe they merit this spot as of now. Last week: 16

10. Atlanta Hawks: A good team they move down a spot due to the Heat being undefeated. Last week: 9

11. Portland Trailblazers: Splitting two games against the Rockets and losing to the Nuggets before getting a win against the Thunder will move them down slightly. Last week: 7

12. Washington Wizards: Pretty good showing thus far without Jamison. Last week: 12

13. Utah Jazz: Only two games so far I’ll keep them put. Last week: 13

14. Philadelphia 76ers: No really impressive wins but they’ll move up due to others bad play. Last week: 15

15. Houston Rockets: They just may be okay without their stars. Last week: 23

16. Chicago Bulls- Two losses yes but that doesn’t make them a bad team. Last week: 14

17. New Orleans Hornets: Losses versus Boston and San Antonio will drop them but honestly I didn’t expect them to win those games. Last week: 11

18. Oklahoma City Thunder: They beat Detroit and hung tough with Portland this is an exciting young team. Last week: 20

19. Toronto Raptors: Chris Bosh is averaging 29 and 14 through the first three games. Yeah, he’s good.  Last week: 17

20. Memphis Grizzles:  They move up and they are still behind the Raptors even though they beat them. We’ll see what happens when Iverson comes back. Last week: 27

21. Detroit Pistons: A win versus the Grizzles opening night but the last two against the Thunder and Bucks didn’t turn out so well. Last week: 19

22. Los Angeles Clippers: The Clips are 0-4 but did you see their schedule? They could have won at least two of those games they need to learn how to close out. Last week: 18

23. Golden State Warriors: Losses against Houston and Phoenix. Not a great team but still better than those behind them. Last week: 21

24. Charlotte Bobcats: At least they beat the Knicks after that embarrassing showing against the Celtics. Last week: 22

25. Indiana Pacers:  The Heat and Hawks should have beat them and they did. Last week: 24

26. Minnesota Timberwolves: Flynn is looking good as a rookie. Last week:28

27. Milwaukee Bucks: The win against the Pistons got them to .500 let’s see how long they can stay that way. Last week: 29

28. New Jersey Nets: Fighting the Knicks for the race to the bottom. Last week: 26

29. New York Knicks: Yes, this team is that bad. Last week: 25

30. Sacramento Kings: Didn’t do much to move them out of last place. Last week: 30
