The other side of sex offender laws.

A look into the need for change of the laws for some offenders from the views of a offender appointed rehabilitation therapist.

When I began my career as a sex offender therapist as a licensed psychologist I believed I could make a change and even help the offenders rehabilitate. Today the stigma of sex offender laws and being registered is a necessary implement of the law, in the same regard there are things that need to be fixed. There are double standards in the laws and injustices while out casting the registered forcing them into non compliance with registering requirements and going underground as the laws have made life impossible wich is inhumane and wrong.

Registration in important for the safety of society and children for some of the more serious offenders as with offenders who are categorized as sexually violent predators which in most states consists of an offender who has more than one offence.

And offenders who have a high chance of re offending. The legal system has been led by politicians seeking re election and the media seeking ratings and a society that are angry and forcing the politicians to make a new jerk reaction law every time the news shows a new horrific crime.

When society sees a murder of a child on television they want justice for the family and safety for children which causes knee jerk reactions and laws that don't do any good and unnecessarily makes some offenders lives unlivable. The vast majority of offenders never re offend and a look at the us department of justice will show the statistics. There is a belief among society that fuels all the unconstitutional laws that are in place now, this belief that all sex offenders will definitely re offend and ignorance of the true facts are based on hate and when we hate we don't act correctly. All it takes is a click on a web page to show the true statistics of re offending at the justice web site to see this ignorance. And this ignorance goes back to mob rules thinking which is a injustice to society itself.

We need to treat offenders on a case by case basis as we cant label all sex offenders as pedophiles and child molesters as rape or urinating in public are also sex offences that are registrable,

and teens having sex with teens are now registrable offences, This has gotten out of hand and there are better ways of handling the needed registration of these offenders and society making laws based on hate and ignorance is not good for society and makes these inhumane laws that can and will affect there own children and themselves one day when they have to urinate outside because there is no rest room nearby or if a woman or man has sex with a teenager that says she is of legal age. There are even minors out there looking for attention and will tell a lie and ruin someone's life because they are bored or confused.

We need to stop the incorrect labelling and hate driven language and deal with offenders as each case requires.

Some offenders do not need to register for life and some offenders do not need there addresses posted on the internet ruining there lives because of one smaller offence.

The laws today are doing no good and registries are condemning the families of the offenders also making there lives difficult for offenders children at school and neighbors treating offenders spouses badly in ignorance. There is a false sense of security with the laws and registries that are just feel good laws and the statistics show that sex offences have not decreased but increased. Knowing where someone lives or making them homeless so they cant be tracked only makes society more in danger. Making a sex offender's life unlivable and unstable only makes gives an offender the higher chance of re offending as these people are damaged people and out casting them makes there triggers to have some kind of release from there pain even more likely to happen. Which usually results in another offence against another person.

If we as society get back to a bible believing people then we can let hate disappear but until that happens the degradation will continue and the new laws that are put into place in the future will one day affect you or your family in one way or another.

There is a double standard in which women sex offenders and people in a place of public service power get away with sex offences when if its a “dirty” man then throw him away to the dogs. And as long as this double standard is in place then there will never be safety in our society and when your son or your father for example get on a registry then you will regret the ignorance and knee jerk reactions because of a news event from one person. The majority of people on registries are not child murderers and just because one person does murder a child and molests them should not create more knee jerk reaction laws and make society more hatefully ignorant.

There has been people that are in charge of protecting our children that go and does these same crimes and they get off light. The legal system is corrupt and it needs to change.

District attorneys all over the country are trying to get re elected and are generating money for the state by incarcerating innocent people just to fill the jails and give them a plea deal while trying to scare an innocent person like maybe your son or your husband or your grandfather that did not even commit a crime.

Our society is flawed in general and until peoples values and morals change then this will repeat and get worse. We need to stop pointing our fingers at people and finding someone else's flaws to make our flaws less evident. The biblical sin of judging people is what this has led to. Don't judge unless ye be judged or don't outcast people that you yourself has done the same thing.

When we learn to love your neighbor as we love ourselves then society will heal and that begins with each one of us. Sex offences are a society problem and sex offences have been around for all time and was once just ignored or treated as leave it in the family to deal with. But now with the modern news and peoples basic need to be nosey these new laws are in place.
