Celebrate Christmas in New Jersey this year. Here are just a few events taking place in the Garden State this holiday season.

The tiny state of New Jersey is alive with many Christmas events this holiday season.  Here are a few Christmas events in New Jersey you may want to attend.

 

Christmas Events In New Jersey 2009-Tree lighting ceremonies

Toms River-December 4th from 6-8:30pm at Town Hall Courtyard. Santa arrives 7:15-7:30 pm. Photos and hot cocoa from 7:30-8:30pm.

Princeton- November 27th from 4:45-6pm at The Green Palmer Square. Enjoy musical performances and an appearance by Santa.

Red Bank- November 27th at 7pm at Broad and Monmouth Streets. The ceremony features the Holiday Express Concert with contemporary and traditional Christmas music.

 

Christmas Events In New Jersey 2009-Light displays

Holmdel-The PNC Bank Holiday Lights Spectacular has become a New Jersey icon. This event runs from the end of November to January 2nd 2010 and is open 7 days a week from 5pm-9pm. Enjoy a 2 mile drive through holiday light displays coordinated with Christmas music played from your car radio.

Camden-The 8th Annual Holiday Festival of Lights at Camden Children's Garden runs through December into January 2nd 2010 from 5:30-8pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Enjoy Christmas light displays and a train ride on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River.

Long Branch-The Pier Village Holiday Spectacular on November 28th will feature a Christmas tree and Menorah lighting and free carriage rides.

 

Christmas Events In New Jersey 2009-Train rides

Wall-The New Jersey Museum of Transportation Christmas Express Train ride in Allaire State Park runs again this year. Days rides take place December 5-6, 12-13, and 19-20  from11am-4pm and night rides on December 12th and 19th from 6-8:30pm. Tickets go on sale November 27th.  Price: $5.

Whippany-The Whippany Railway Museum has the Santa Claus Special train ride on the following weekends: December 6, 12-13, and 19-20 from 1 to 4pm. Tickets: $12 for adults and $8 for kids.

Phillipsburg-The Polar Express Train Ride departs from Lehigh Junction on the following days: November 28-29, December 5-6, 12-13, and 19-20 between 2-6pm. All children receive hot cocoa, cookies, and a visit with Santa. Tickets: $22 for adults and $16 for kids 3-12.

 

Christmas Events In New Jersey 2009-Miscellaneous Christmas fun!

Clinton-Dickens Days takes place November 27-29th along Main Street. Attendees will be treated to strolling carolers and horse drawn carriage rides.

Basking Ridge-The 36th Annual Festival of Trees happens from November 30th to December 11th. It's an indoor celebration of Christmas tree displays, silent auctions, and musical performances. Cost is $4.

Morristown-Experience Gingerbread Wonderland, a yummy display of art that takes place at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum December 4-13th from 10a-5pm.
