A melodramatic musical extravaganza that touches your heart.

This is the movie version of the classical Bengali novel Devdas written by Sarat chandra Chattopadhaya. This was the third remake of the movie. The first one was a hit that starred Dilip Kumar. After that this movie is the third remake and still a hit.
The story is a classic and perhaps everyone knows it. But still the beauties with which they are made make them an instant hit.
The story basically revolves around three people and their stories. Shahrukh and Aishwarya are childhood friends. Devdas goes abroad to study and when he returns he and Paro think that they will marry but they are not allowed to do so. Paro is married to some rich land lord. Devdas gets devastated by this and starts drinking and going to Madhuri who plays the character of a prostitute. Well what happens to the characters next it is for you to watch.
This was what I told of the story. Now there are things other than this that makes the movie more worth watching. The nice songs and the beautiful choreography in the song “dola re dola re” is just amazing.

My thoughts about the movie:-

1. Firstly the sets on which the movie was filmed was great and very extravagant and it gave the movie that great periodic look. To be sincere it looked very eye catchy.

2. Next the costumes that were the part of the movie were the costliest and the most extravagant ones ever used in a movie.

3. The songs of the movie and the choreography indeed made them instant hits. So to say that the dances that Madhuri made despite being pregnant in her real life are really appreciable and hats off to her.

4. The movie was made with some of the heavyweight starts in the cast....it is really appreciable on the part of the director that he made them act in the movie despite the off screen ego clashes. Keeping these apart, the role of Chunnilal played by Jackie was a great role
