With so many choices available when it comes to kitchen appliances, how do you decide which oven you should buy?

If you are getting ready to purchase a new oven be sure to consider all options. Whether you are choosing an oven for a new space or as a replacement, the choices seem endless, and it is important to get what you need when ordering you oven Features can't be added after the oven is installed.

Measure the space where your oven will be placed. Consider room needed for any cabinets that will be added. Also, think about the room needed for the oven door to open. Will it open in an area that is just not big enough? Don't tell yourself you can get by with something that doesn't work, as the oven and you may be together for decades.

Check available styles online. Larger stores that sell appliances have websites that will give you most of the information you need. Be sure to read about extra features available. Whether you choose a range that is also a convection oven, or you choose a wall oven, you can usually also add a warming drawer. Consider how many burners you want, and if want the cook top separate from the oven or do you want a range. A self cleaning feature is always a good option. Some ovens also have a continuous cleaning feature. Ovens that do the cleaning for us are a must in most cases.

Make a list of the features you found online that your new oven must have. Stick to your list. It would be easy to be talked into more than you need, or can afford. Do you need the convection feature that can be added, or is this something you would never use?

After determining from your online research which stores have the best choices for a new oven, make phone calls to these store. You don't have to call 15 places, but the top 3 or 4 in your area would be a good start. Ask about upcoming sales you may not read about online. Ask about any incentives, such as free for a year financingĀ if you need this.

When you are ready to purchase the oven you want, stick to your list of features-you can't add these later. Don't buy anything that is not on sale. Ask about the any appliance rebate programs that are available. If you are switching your energy source, as in from electric to gas, make arrangements well in advance to have everything in place when your oven is delivered.
