Use this guide to create a Facebook Farm Town Farm and begin planting, harvesting and building up your land.

Farm Town is a Facebook App Game that is Fun for All Ages

Farm Town (BETA) is a fun, family friendly Facebook Application that can suck you in and make you want to spend the day tending to your gardens, playing with the farm animals and planting some trees. Facebook's Farm Town (BETA) app loads fairly quickly if you have a high speed internet service, and once it loads you are ready to play.

The first thing you need to do in order to play using the Facebook Farm Town app is to create your farm character. You choose a name for your farm character and then design your character. An avatar form lets you choose whether you are male or female and then provides different hairstyles, eye features, nose features and mouth features. Once this is complete your farm will load on the page.

You will start with a basically empty plot with just a few plowed slots where seeds can be planted and grown. A menu at the top lets you invite friends, send gifts, play on the farm and do much more. A menu at the bottom of the farm page lets you chat with other farmer or you can close it out and see who your farm neighbors are.

It is beneficial in Farm Town (BETA) to add neighboring farms because you can gain experience (XP) points and coin by visiting other farms and tending to them while the farm owners are away. Some of the things you may do on different Farm Town (BETA) farms include watering fields, flowers or raking the farm after a tornado. These are simple tasks that will be offered through a drop down menu and you can opt not to do them but since you gain both XP and coins to use later it is beneficial to help out your fellow farmers and they can return the favor. The only downside is that you are not able to care for your farm neighbor's harvests. This can mean fields that are ready to be harvested may go to waste.

Back at your Facebook Farm Town (BETA) farm, you can use the coins you have gained through helping your neighbors, selling a harvest or winning the farmer lottery to buy different items. To get your farm started you will be given a set number of coins to start a crop. There will be a few crops open including potatoes, tomatoes and grapes. These are the least costly of the seeds that can be bought. On each seed category you can see how much the harvest will sell for at market and what the price will be if they are sold directly from the farm.

Other things that can be bought for the farm include plants, trees, animals, fencing, farm materials and buildings. New stuff is unlocked with each new level you get by tending to your farm and visiting other farms.

Facebook's Farm Town (BETA) app is a fun application that any member of the family can enjoy and you don't have to be a computer whiz or even an expert gamer to play. Visit Facebook and enter the search term: Farm Town to start your own farm today.
