Having a bad hair day is not fun. It can spoil the whole day for you. So here are a few personal grooming tips for women on how to have a great hair day.

No time to shampoo your hair?

Make a dry shampoo with bran, dry oatmeal, baby powder, or cornstarch. Use a shaker or an empty baby powder container to apply. Run your fingers through your hair to work the dry shampoo into your hair and brush it out thoroughly. This dry shampoo will absorb the oil in your hair and make it seem as if you've just shampooed your hair.

Dandruff bothering you?

Shake 1 tablespoon of table salt into dry hair. Massage gently into your hair before shampooing.

Warning : Don't use this treatment if your scalp has any cuts or abrasions.

Make your own hair highlighter

For dark hair : Simmer 1 teaspoon allspice, 1 teaspoon crushed cinnamon, and half teaspoon cloves in 1 cup of water. Strain, cool, and pour over freshly shampooed hair. Rinse off with clear water.

For red hair : Brew a cup of orange tea, or dilute strained beet juice. Work the cooled liquid through freshly shampooed hair. Leave on hair for 5 minutes and then rinse well with clear water.

For brunettes or redheads : A rinse of coffee (black coffee only) after you shampoo will add highlights to dull hair. Rinse well with clear water.

Conditioning your hair

Revitalize lack-lustre hair with this concoction : Beat 3 eggs, add 2 tablespoons olive oil or safflower oil and 1 teaspoon vinegar. Apply mixture on to hair and cover with plastic wrap. Leave on hair for 30 minutes and then shampoo as usual. Your hair will look lustrous after this treatment.

The above grooming tips will undoubtedly give life back to lack-lustre and dull hair and will make you have a great hair day every day.
