Digital Journal.com is a great earning/writing site. It introduces a money-pot system for earnings and the aura of professional journalism is at every corner of the site.

Digital Journal.com is one of blogosphere's leading citizen journalism websites.

With over 15,000 registered users and a solid crew of well-informed and dedicated citizen journalist, the site offers a new, fresh and exciting news reporting perspective different from the old and traditional mainstream media.

I joined Digital Journal last May; subsequently I applied and had been promoted as a "Digital Journalist."

Since then, I continuously write news clips and opinion articles, mostly on science and health issues.

Based on my experiences it was a thrill working with the site. The lay-out of the site itself provides an aura of professionalism which lacks most citizen journalism websites.

Digital Journal also has a wonderful community, with all those helpful ambassadors and editors that frankly point your mistakes in a diplomatic manner of constructive criticism.

Another great thing about the site is that they don't just give you the feeling of involvement specifically in the news-gathering process but they also pay you for being involved.

Bottom line -- It's not just about being an average concerned citizen. It’s receiving rewards for being an average concerned citizen.

Digital Journal introduces a "money-pot system" in which a portion of its monthly advertising revenue is put and allocated to writers based on the impact of their contributions.

However, If you're thinking quitting your job and pursuing writing through Digital Journal maybe, just maybe you should think again.

The earnings you'll get from Digital Journal isn't enough to buy you a sweet tropical island to where you'll spend your retirement years.

Take me as an example -- for the month of June, I received 50.35 USD, not that much. No seriously not that much., about 80 + articles for the price of 50 dollars.

Talk about lump-sum.

Did I mention that I was the 14th highest paid writer during June?

On the other hand, the tedious and stressful task may not be that tedious and stressful, if you're enjoying your work. (Human Relations Approach, perhaps?)

Believe me there are a lot of other factors that makes me stick with the site even though it pays me peanuts. (hey, peanuts isn't that bad, I had experience writing for several sports websites for mere exposure)

I loved to be informed and I'd love to inform. Simple, actually the earnings I got from Digital Journal is enough for a Saturday night bar session. (in the Philippines that is)

The looks of the site is good, the features are brilliant, the experience -- genuine.

The community -- wonderful, the earnings, it'll help if we could get some raise.

In a ten-star rating system, I'll give it a nine.
