Movie Releases on DVD in December 2009
Whether you want a movie to watch and relax or to buy DVDs for Christmas presents, plenty of exciting movies are being released on DVD in December 2009, including Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
If you’re looking for a break from the Christmas bustle, then why not rent a movie and snuggle on the sofa with a hot chocolate? Or if you’re Christmas shopping, why not buy them a new DVD of a movie they’ll love? There’s a good selection of movies slated for release in December 2009 ranging from children’s movies to action blockbusters and chick flicks.
Here’s an overview of the movies scheduled for release on DVD in December 2009.
Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince is the 6th movie in the popular Harry Potter series starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. Based on J.K. Rowling’s best selling novel by the same name, this movie has already drawn huge crowds to the cinema, and many people of all ages will be adding the DVD to their Christmas wish lists.

Night At the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is the sequel to popular family comedy Night at the Museum. Ben Stiller is back as Larry, museum security guard. Once again, after hours the museum exhibits come to life, and we get to meet a variety of new historical characters in addition to the familiar faces from the first film. If you enjoyed the first movie, then you’ll have more good-natured fun with this one.

Terminator Salvation is yet another sequel coming to the small screen this December. Starring Christian Bale, humanity must once again fight against the evil Terminator robots. It’s not the best movie in the series, but if you like big action movies then you’ll enjoy the big shoot-‘em-up fight scenes.

Julie & Julia is the perfect choice for someone wanting something less violent and intense. This delightful chick flick, based on a true story, stars Amy Adams and Meryl Streep, as famous chef Julia child and a blogger who decides to cook all of her recipes in a year. It is a sweet story that will make you want to cook.

The Hangover was written by the same team who wrote The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, and like that movie, didn’t live up to the hype. It’s a juvenile comedy about a group of buddies who go to Vegas as a stag celebration before one of them gets married. Only they lose the groom, find a baby, and end up having other misadventures along the way. If you enjoy this type of movie, then rent it for a good laugh. A lot of people, though, will just find it stupid.

Other movies scheduled for release in December 2009 include: The Girl from Monaco, G-Force, The Other Man, and Extract.
