You don't have to buy expensive dog shampoos. Make your own.

Shampoos for your dog have gotten very expensive. You want the best for your dog, their hair, and their skin, just as you do for yourself. The marketers of pet products make you feel guilty or make it seem like you are the worst dog parent if you don't buy their high priced products. It can bore a nice hole in your wallet trying to make sure your dog has the best shampoo. It doesn't have to! Here is a homemade shampoo for your dog that is easy and inexpensive. It can also make a great gift for pet owners, or put one under the Christmas tree for your own dog!

Grab one of your empty hand soap dispensers and rinse it out thoroughly.

In a bowl, mix ½ cup of Joy dish soap and 1 TBsp of aloe vera gel. Mix these ingredients slowly with a spoon. Slowly add ¼ c. of water. Don't mix rapidly or shake, or you will end up with a ton of bubbles that you can't mix!

Pour your mixture into the empty dispenser. You can use other dispensers but the hand soap dispenser is easy to use when you are bathing the dog.

This is a great gift for dog owners. The dollar stores and discount department stores carry colorful plastic bottles that can be filled with the homemade shampoo mixture and given as gifts.
