Teaching etiquette to small children is an important responsibility for any parents. Learn how to teach etiquette to children through children books.

According to Clarence Thomas, "Good manners will open doors that the best education cannot." This will tell you how important it is to teach proper etiquette to children. Teaching etiquette to children is very much essential. When proper etiquette is taught to them, they tend to grow as good human beings. These children will come up in their life very easily. All of us know this; however, how to teach proper etiquette is the next question that pops-up in our minds.

No child is born rude; it is we who make them rude. The way in which we groom them makes the difference. In general, children learn many things from their parents. Parents are the role models for their children. Therefore, we should first start using these phrases: Please, Thank you, Welcome. When children see us use these phrases, they tend to start using them. If you say, "What the hell are you doing?" they would definitely repeat the same one day or the other.

What are some of the common etiquettes you should teach your child? You should teach them:

  1. how to eat with a spoon
  2. not to speak while eating
  3. how to wash their hands after eating
  4. where to place their toys
  5. how to arrange their toys properly
  6. how to welcome when someone comes to our home
  7. how to speak with elders
