Sometimes cooking can be a tough task when you’re pressed for time. However, there are some of us that enjoy cooking and would love to learn more. So how do we get better at it? Let’s find out!

STEP 1: Purchase a simple cook book, preferably one with pictures of the finished result. Look for fun and easy dishes to try while you are just starting out. The more you cook the earlier you can advance into making more complicated dishes. But, for now, try to keep it pretty simple because if it turns into a disaster you will lose your confidence and feel like a failure. And we don’t want that!

STEP 2: Search online for new recipes and try your hand at making them. It doesn’t have to be perfect the first time. As long as you get some experience to take with you for the next time you cook that’s all you can ask for. The more you cook the more you’ll start learning what spices taste good on certain foods and when a particular item needs more or less of a seasoning.

STEP 3: Watch cooking shows. Not only is it fun to watch other people cooking delicious food, but it can be exciting to know that what they make YOU can also create if you pay attention. Just follow their methods and give it a shot. It’s definitely best to find a cooking channel that provides easy, healthy meals so that you don’t get in over your head from the get-go. Often the fitness channel will have cooking shows at different times that you could try checking out.

STEP 4: If you are really desperate you can even purchase cooking videos to help you get started. Just Google “cooking DVDs” or “cooking videos” and see what comes up. After searching through them, more than likely you will find one or two that suite your tastes.
