Ideas on how you could make a chocolate gift basket at home. This is a DIY project that will save you money for sure.

Chocolate gift baskets are an ideal gift for any occasion. Be it Valentine's day or Christmas, or may be someone's birthday. No matter what the occasion, a chocolate gift basket is a perfect choice. That being said, people spend a lot of cash on buying a chocolate gift basket, when you can actually make it at home. It is a fun, easy, inexpensive, do-it-yourself project that can save you cash. You can pick up most things you need to make the chocolate gift basket in a dollar store. The chocolates can be found in any super-market.

1) The first thing you need to do is buy the basket. You can visit a dollar store and get a nice basket for $1 to $5. Choose the size of the basket, keeping in mind the number of items you would be placing in it.

2) Now that you have the basket, you need the chocolates. It's best to get a large packets of assorted chocolates and a few expensive ones. This way, the basket looks filled, yet you don't have to go overboard, when it comes to the budget.

3) While at the super market, you can pick-up chocolate chip cookies and even candles with a chocolate fragrance. Anything which goes with the chocolate theme, will fit perfectly with the chocolate gift basket.

4) Next, comes the process of putting together the chocolate gift basket. So start off by placing a nice gift paper at the bottom of the basket.

5) Place all the items in the basket. The arrangement of items should be done carefully. Place the larger items at the center and around the border of the basket. The smaller items can be tossed in between the larger gifts.

6) Lay a sufficiently large decorative cellophane paper on a flat surface. Place the basket at the center of the cellophane paper and gather all the edges of the cellophane. Pull it to the top and then tie with a ribbon. You can also use a ready-made bow to secure the cellophane. You must have seen various kinds of cellophane paper in the market. If you are making the chocolate gift basket for an occassion like Christmas or Valentine's day, you can pick up cellophanes that sport the respective themes. Else, it's good to use the ones that have silver or gold print on them.

7) Now, all you have to do is trim off some of the excess cellophane to get a flower effect, and stick a gift tag to it.

Your chocolate gift basket is ready. Try to buy baskets and assorted chocolates in wholesale. You can gift this for Christmas and still save a lot of cash. Enjoy!!
