1. The ability to understand short passages of Enlish(narrative and descriptive) spoken at normal spoken at normal speed

4.The ability to use orally a fair number of elementary answers.
5.The ability to reporduce orally the substance of a short pass of english after having heard it several times and read it.
Reding
1. the ability to read a short passage of english(up to 200 words in length) aloud. the student should have a fair grasp of the rhythm of the language (stress and intonatin) even if he is unable to pronounce unfamilar words acorrectly.
2.students should have a passive vocabulary range of around 2,000 words and should be able to read words of ficion and non-fiction to this level.

the abiliy to write simple,compound and comlex sentences.
2.comprehension
the ability to answer in writing simple questions on a pasage of english
3.summary writing
the ability to connect ideas from notes that have been provied so as to from acomlete pargraph.
4.conposition
the ability to write a short compostion of about 150 words. based to ideas tha have been provided.
5.letter writting
Konwleage of the lay-out of the personanl letter. the ability to write a short letter based on ideas that have been provided.
command of laguage
1.Ggrammar(key structures)
The course presuposes that the student has covered the elemenary and per- internediate ground work. it is clearl recognized, however, that further instrunction and practice are required.
2.usage(special difficulties)
the student should be familiar with a numbero of words that are often confused or misused and limited number of idiomatic expressions.
