In addition to saving money, shopping effectively also saves time and it seems these days we can never get enough of that! Try these tips and see if they work for you?

Things You’ll Need:

Making lists
Grocery ads
Make menus

While bargain shopping is a good practice, time is money and a full day of bargain shopping and wasting gas in an attempt to save a dollar or two is usually not a bargain and all.

Save time and money by planning weekly menus before you shop . Shopping for one week eliminates those short but time consuming treks to the store, this helps eliminate having to make that daily decision of what to fix for dinner.

Another ready made grocery list is the sale page from you local newspaper. Just check off on the ad page the items that you need and jot down items that are not in the ad. Grocery ads help you plan menus around things that are on sale, which saves money.

*Useful tips:

Don't buy things for your home that you are not going to use in a normal week of eating. Try buying paper products at the Dollar discount store because they are the same and they cost a great deal less than buying them at a typical grocery store.

Eat less meat and more vegetables and grains because they are cheaper to buy and are better for you to eat!

Always include dark green leafy vegetables into you diet because they are cheaper to buy and they are healthier to eat as well.

When you are writing a menu up, be sure that you include items that are high in protien and low in fat for easier digestion for your family and stronger bone growth for small children.
