Real sugar vs artificial sweetener

Many different kinds of sugar, sugar nutritional value, excessive sugar consumption can lead to health hazard, what is artificial sweetener, the health impact and side effect of artificial sweetener

White sugar or crystal sugar in the market made from sugar cane. Sugar is very high in carbohydrate, it also has a trace amount of vitamins and mineral. Excessive consumption of sugar can lead to obesity, diabetes or tooth decay. People use sugar to add sweet taste to foods and beverages.

Natural sweetener can be made from other sources as well such as palm sugar, sugar beet, maple syrup, corn syrup or other fruits and grains. Natural sweetener also call nutritive sweetener, it contains trace amount of nutrition value. However natural sweetener mostly sugar and carbohydrate. 

People use natural sweetener sparingly to add sweetness to baked goods, cooked foods or other foods and beverages. People also use natural or artificial sweetener for medicine (such as cough syrup), mouthwash, tooth paste and lip gloss as well. 

Other natural sweetener is honey. People use honey for many centuries ago, honey is a natural sweetener people use even before they found crystal sugar. Honey produced by honey bees from flowers nectar. People use honey for additive to foods and beverage as well. Honey can be used to treat sore throat and for chapped lips.

Artificial sweetener is a non-nutritive sweetener. It doesn't have any nutrition value. Equal made from aspartame, sweet 'n' low made from saccharin, splenda made from sucralose. Artificial sweeteners are made from chemicals reaction that produce sweet taste. However this chemicals don't have any sugar, carbohydrate, or other vitamins and minerals needed by human. Companies use artificial sweetener for diet soda and some sugar-free foods.

There are many controversy regarding the safety of those artificial sweetener for human health. Some critics believe artificial sweetener can cause numbers of illness in human health including brain damage, tumor, cancer, migraine or other illness. Suclarose is the only artificial sweetener rank as "safe" by the customer advocacy group, as long as people don't take it more than the suggested daily intake.
