Why love a cat even though you are not old and lonely.

Why love a cat?

I’m sure you’ve heard that cats are independent pets and they don’t get attached to their masters. In fact cats don’t even see us humans as their masters. Cats don’t love us. So why should we love them? Why should we care for them?

I personally think that cats are the most mysterious, most beautiful and interesting creatures on the planet Earth. And you will say : “That’s not loving them. That’s admiring them”. Yes, you admire them, but when you get to know them you just can’t help falling in love with them.

It is scientifically proven that a cat helps you relax. If you are stressed (especially nowadays when stress is the main reason for heart diseases ) only by petting a cat you can relax. Her purring  takes away all the stress, and it is impossible to describe in words what you feel. Beside this cats are the cleanest pets. You don’t even have to bath them (only if necessary once a month ). They clean themselves and they don’t smell ( really they don’t – I know because I have a cat). And if you brush them often enough they don’t even leave as much hair as it is said they do.

Once you get to know your cat you will understand everything she will try to tell you with her body language. For example when she is upset or nervous she will move her tail from left to right (just like a dog – when he is happy ), or when the cat is happy or excited or playful she will hold her tail straight up, or she will even show her affection (yes. unbelievable , but cats can show their affection) by rubbing her nose on you. My cat even told me once that my father had beaten her. When I got home, my cat came and meowed at me, then went to the kitchen looking behind after every step to see if I follow her, then she jumped up on the table and put her paw on the newspaper, and then she looked at the room in which my father was laying down. When I asked my father if he had beaten her with the newspaper he was surprised of how could I possibly know that. So you can communicate with your cat. And this is really amazing.

How could you not love a cat when she comes and jumps in your lap looking at you and almost begging you to show her affection and love, or when at night she comes and lays down next to you purring. And if you can make time to play with her I can assure you that you will enjoy every minute and it will be really fun to play with her.

Cats are natural hunters so don’t be surprised if she brings home “pet friends” such as small birds, mice and other small animals. You must not punish her for that. It’s in her blood to hunt (likewise lions, tigers and other felines).

So how could you possibly not love this creature? And if you still are not convinced you should go and adopt one. It would be the best decision you ever made.
