Michael Jackson died on June 25 2009. He is missed by his family, his children and his millions of fans. But as we look back at the events leading to his death, we can't help but think if his death could have been avoided. Instances have been reported about how Michael could have predicted his own death.

For the millions of fans of Michael Jackson, his death is a great loss. It's tragic that he died at such a young age. But could this tragedy have been averted? Did we turn a deaf ear at his cry for help? There are several instances when he was alive to show that the King of Pop could have foreseen his own death.

Conversation with ex-wife

In her mySpace blog, Michael Jackson's ex-wife, Lisa Marie Presley, talked about a conversation she once had with Michael when he asked her about her father's drug-related death. She said that Michael expressed his fears of ending up like Elvis Presley. Could this have been his cry for help? She persuaded Michael from thinking such negative thoughts but he just shrugged and they didn't talk about the matter again.

At his autopsy, the doctor found several drugs in Michael's body and it was reported that he was addicted to Demerol and other painkillers and he had doctors who were willing to prescribe these drugs to him without question.

Written in his song

Michael Jackson wrote a song titled "Morphine" for his 1997 album Blood On The Dance Floor. In it he talked about drug addiction. Read the lyrics to Morphine and see if it's not about his drug addiction.

In the song, he wrote about a heart attack and sang "Relax....Close your eyes and drift away". There seems to be a similarity between these lyrics and the way Michael died.

Ian Haperlin predicted Michael's death

In December of 2008, writer and biographer Ian Haperlin predicted that Michael would be dead in 6 months and true to his words Michael died 6 months and 1 day later. His prediction was denied vehemently by Michael's advisers who claimed that Michael was in the best shape ever. Ian Haperlin however noticed that Michael was out of shape and didn't believe that he would be able to perform the 50 London shows scheduled. He also claimed that Michael's advisers knew this but yet pushed Michael to do the shows.

Michael was so out of shape that even he didn't feel that he could do the 50 concerts. He said he agreed to 20 but was angry to hear that he had to do 50 and he was also reported as saying,"I'm better off dead. I don't have anywhere left to turn. I'm done". Some even reported Michael as saying that he didn't believe he would still be alive before the London shows.

Whether we could have stopped or prevented Michael Jackson's death, these instances are only seen after the fact. It's only after the event has occured that we can look back in regret and continue to ask ourselves, did Michael Jackson predict his own death?
