Are you wondering how to easily and simply clean the memory on your Blackberry?

You might need to free up some memory on your Blackberry Smartphone. I got a Blackberry Pearl for my birthday, and I love it. Although, I have found it quite complicated to learn to use. The information seems to be not compiled well in one place.

I have done a lot of asking for advice, and searching the internet. I will include a link to a fellow Ehow friend, CDClocks, who has helped me. She has some good Blackberry articles and knows a lot about it.

I have found it is important to do a little housekeeping periodically to clean off your Blackberry to allow it to work at its best potential.

I thoroughly enjoy trying out apps or applications on my Blackberry. (See Link for how to do this.) I add and remove them all the time, and sometimes it will say that I don't have enough memory. After doing these things, it will let me continue.

I am not a Blackberry expert, by any means, but I will tell you how to do it "for dummies," like me!

 Instructions

Things You'll Need:
  • Blackberry Smartphone, Mine is a Blackberry pearl.
  1. Step 1

The first thing you want to do to clean off your Blackberry and free up more memory is to delete pictures stored on there. I send mine to my email, and then take care of them on my computer. Just highlight each picture, then use your Blackberry Menu key to delete.

  2. Step 2

Next, you want to actually clean the cache on your Blackberry. Open your browser, click your Blackberry menu button and Options. Click Cache Operations. This will offer you a choice of Content Cache, Pushed Content, and Cookie Cache. Clean each one of these. The Pushed content will ask you if you are sure, and I always respond with "yes."

Close this by clicking closed on your Blackberry Menu Button.

  3. Step 3

Go to your Email and Messages. Scroll to the top, Click Blackberry button and choose Delete Prior. This clears out these Departments!

  4. Tips & Warnings

  • Check your settings to be sure you have everything set correctly according to your manufacturer's recommendations to conserve memory efficiently.
  • I am not an expert. You should consult your Blackberry smartphone provider before following any of my dumb suggestions. I blew up three computers before I learned to use them. (one was a mainframe.)
