Taking Action to Reduce Global Warming
Regardless of whether you believe Global Warming is "real" or not, you probably understand that the environment can always use some more tender loving care.
Educate yourself about Global Warming. Perform some research, watch some documentaries, and hear from some experts on the topic. After you have educated yourself about Global Warming, take that information and share it with the world. Make sure that you use your knowledge to enlighten others, and not to attempt to frighten them.
Vote for officials that believe Global Warming and the environment are important issues. Whether you're voting for the president of the United States, or the president of a club in high school; determine what their stand is on the issues that matter and make a difference to you. Then act upon your beliefs and share your thoughts with those around you.
Begin to recycle. If you already recycle, recycle more than you currently do. 15-25% of people do not currently recycle at all. By simply recycling one plastic water bottle, you can save enough resources to power a computer for 25 minutes. Now take this one small plastic water bottle and multiply that ten-fold. Understand that you can make a difference by actually recycling. Encourage those around you to also recycle.
Fill your dishwasher and clothes washer completely. You may surprised to discover how much money you can save by actually filling your dishwasher completely before washing a load. A typical household can save $40 a year by adequately filling their dishwasher each load. This savings is because you do not need to run your dishwasher as often as you normally would. Similar savings can be seen when you fill your clothes washer full each and every load.
