This article elaborates about the dangers of leaving dog poop in the yard or park and elaborates on ways dog poop can be disposed safely

Scooping up dog poop may seem unsightly and disgusting but the law is there for a reason. This law is fair and environmentally friendly as not only is dog poop unsightly and can spoil the asthetical value of parks and your own backyard but dog poop also contains various micro organisms such as the Ecoli Bacteria that can cause serious problems if the poop is left in the gardens and washed down into drains with rain water as this water finally reaches the sea. Large quantities of dog poop can also cause depletion of oxygen levels in water and can cause an algae bloom in seas which can kill marine life. The micro organisms can also harm the beneficial bacteria in the sewer systems.

Scooping up dog poop is just the first part of the whole cycle because if the dog poop is thrown into landfills the Ecoli bacteria and other micro organisms can infect the garbage which could otherwise be recycled or reused.

Since there are so many problems associated with dog poop you will definitely wonder how are you suppose to dispose dog poop in an eco friendly and safe way.

Flushing dog poop in the toilet is a safe way to dispose dog poop as the bacteria in the poop are busted when they go to the same sewage treatment plant as human poop. Composing dog poop or burying it in a 12 inch deep hole is another way you can dispose dog poop. Ensure that the dog poop is not deposited close to vegetables or fruits due to the presence of Ecoli bacteria in the poop. However, this poop can be used as manure for non edible plants. Placing dog poop in biodegradable bags and composing it is another way one can safely dispose dog poop. Building your own worm compost bin or buying one ensures that the worms eat the dog poop and the poop is disposed safely.
