Want to learn how to make jewelry for yourself or to sell to make money? You're going to need some jewelry making supplies. Read on to find out what you should initially buy to make jewelry.

You can purchase jewelry making supplies at a number of places.  Big Box stores such as Walmart have jewelry making supplies in their craft departments.  You can also purchase lots of jewelry supplies at craft stores such as Michaels.  Jewelry making supplies can be found on ebay and at other online jewelry supply stores.

In terms of what to buy, it depends on what you like.  If you're planning to bead necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, you should pick out beads that appeal to you.  You'll find beads in all sizes (usually measured in milimeters), in all colors, with different designs, and made of different materials.  There are glass beads, pearls, gemstone beads, crystals, shells, bone beads, etc.  Buy beads that appeal to you.

You'll also need some spacers to put in between beads (basically to show off the beads).  Spacers look like beads, but are usually silver or gold in color.  Some are barrel spacers, some are daisy spacers, and some are stars.  They come in many shapes and sizes as well.  If you have any beaded jewelry, if you look at it you will likely see spacers on it.

You're going to need something to bead onto - either wire or elastic or string or leather.  If you'll be using elastic, string, or leather, you can usually just know the ends.  However, if you'll be beading onto beading wire, you're going to need jewelry pliers, crimp beads, and clasps.
