Coffee for the Christmas Season

A recipe for a delicious holiday coffee drink.

Noticing that eggnog was out in the stores again, I picked some up and brought it home for my self and my two sons, Aaron and Isaac. It was the half gallon size, so we didn't drink it all that evening. The next morning when I started to make my coffee, I remembered the eggnog and wondered if it might be good mixed with my coffee. It wouldn't hurt to try it, I thought. So I did, and it tasted so good that I chugged it  down and wanted more. What an excellent discovery! You just have to try it for yourself to understand.

This is how I made mine. Since I'm telling about my experience here. I used fresh whole French Vanilla light roast Kivu brand coffee beans, purchased from the bulk coffee section of Fred Meyer's food department here in Newport, Oregon.

I prefer to use fresh ground coffee, so I use a nine tablespoon Mr.Coffee grinder for this. I like to use about six tablespoons of whole coffee beans with the ground set to fine. I Use a little over eight cups of Glacier brand filtered water in a drip brewed coffee maker, and let it brew untill it's done, as usual.

This makes enough to fill my work thermos and have enough left over to fill my coffee cup two thirds full with fresh brewed coffee, then I pour light eggnog into the cup until it's mostly full and stir it.

Now I'm ready to drink it, and if you liked this idea, you might also want to try adding cinnamon or whip cream to it for even more flavor. The nice thing about this is its adjustable. Use it as a springboard for your own creativity, and tune it to your own tastes. What could be better than that? How good it tastes is up to you and limited only by your imagination.

I hope you have enjoyed this article and I wish you a very merry Christmas! Thank you for reading.

I think this might be good for Easter with a little coconut milk in the coffee. What do you think? 5*

This is good with other wonderful additions too. Maybe "Coffee for all seasons". This is forever popular, my friend.
