How to go in suspsend mode in the PSP, as well as a look at the Pause feature of the PSP Go.

Portable gaming is just that - portable. Whether it's because you're getting off the next bus stop and can no longer play, or because your friends are calling you over to do something, you don't exactly want to waste precious battery life by leaving your PSP on. If a save point is far, and  turning off the console altogether is inconceivable, your only option is to suspend your PSP. To put your PSP into pause mode, simple flick the power button. Do not hold the button as that will turn your system up, just quickly press it up and let it go. When you flick it back on later on, you will be right where you left off.

The Suspend feature of the PSP is a verty popular one. In fact, many people never actually turn off their systems and only rely on suspend mode. It is also very power-efficient so if you need to charge your batteries and are away, you can give yourself extra time by going into suspend mode (though if you wait too long, the battery will eventually die)

The PSP Go has a slightly different (and dare I say better) version of this. When you are playing you can press the Playstation logo button and you have the option to quit or pause a game. If you pause, it will create a save state of where you are. You can go off to watch videos or listen to music on your psp, or you can turn off your system. When you choose to, you can resume the game (and your save state will then be deleted).
