This Gift Jar Three Bean Soup is a great gift idea for a sick friend or a great treat on a cold winter day. Try this great three bean soup or give it as a gift!

This is also a great stable to have in the cabinet in case there is bad weather and you are not able to get to the store for several days. Beans are a long lasting hardy ingredient that will fill you up so this makes it a great recipe within its self. When you add the gift quality to this great recipe it’s a home run. Make several jars and you are ready for those gifts for sick friends or you have them ready just in case you want three bean soup as a meal!

Things You'll Need:
  • ½ Cup Dried Vegetables (Mixed)
  • ½ Cup Dried Split Peas
  • 2/3 Cup Dried Romano Beans
  • 2/3 Cup Dried White Navy Beans
  • 2/3 Cup Dried Pinto Beans
  • ½ Cup Pearl Barley
  • 6 Beef Bouillon cubes
  • 6 Tablespoons Dried Onion Flakes
  • 2 Table Spoon Celery Seed
  • 2 Teaspoons Dried Basil
  • 1 Mason jar (quart sized)

Step 1

To make the gift jar three bean soup you will need to simply layer the ingredients into the quart sized Mason jar. Just add the ingredients as they are listed and make sure to press them in firmly before adding the next ingredient.

Step 2

Seal the jar with the lid making sure it is screwed on tight.

Step 3

Attach a recipe card to the jar with cooking instructions:

Gift Jar Three Bean Soup
* Pour all jar ingredients into large Pot.
* Add 8 cups of water and bring to a boil allowing it to simmer for five minutes.
* Remove from heat, cover and let soak for one hour
* Drain water and cover with 12 cups of water and bring soup to a rolling boil.
* Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 ½ - 2 hours or until beans are to the desired tenderness.
* Make sure to stir occasionally while cooking. Also if soup becomes too thick simply add more water as necessary.

Step 4

Attach recipe card to the Gift jar with a decorative ribbon or cord and your gift is done!
