You're missing out if haven't tried these top ice cream flavors.

Summer nights are often filled with long lines filing out of ice cream eateries, and grocery stores overstocked with Breyer, Ben & Jerry's, Homemade, and even Edy's ice cream to be enjoyed my hundreds including yours truly. Even when it's cold, with the scenery of Christmas lights in your neighbor's backyard, it's not rare to find one enjoying a scoop or two of ice cream in front of the fireplace. Often times once we taste a flavor, we stick to it and never enjoy the hundreds of other flavors that exist. Give these top 5 icecream flavors a try, hey you never know, they could become a new favorite of yours. :)

# 5: Neapolitan

The ever famous Neapolitan ice cream features not just one flavor, but three: Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry. The actual name Neapolitan refers to any molded dessert that contains 3 layers. This all- American ice cream flavor didn't originate in America, but it's roots are Italian. When it was introduced to the United States, it was one of the most popular ice cream flavors.

# 4: Strawberry

Strawberry ice cream is in fact an all-American favorite. From the well known strawberry milkshakes to the tubbed ice cream filled with frozen strawberries, it's simply a classic.

# 3: Butter pecan

I don't happen to be a big fan of Butter Pecan, but it's delicious and doesn't even need a piece of pie to accompany it. This flavor of ice cream is a winner all by itself.

#2: Chocolate

Some would say that chocolate is the best flavor out there, especially with a piece of chocolate cake. It's best made homemade, where you can enjoy the product of your own making. :)

#1: Vanilla

Are you surprised? Vanilla ice cream is one of the most versatile flavors known. Enjoy it by itself, with a piece of apple pie, or floating a top a glass full of root beer. It's America's most popular flavor, stealing 20-29% of sales. Is this one of your favorites? Well go get yourself an ice cream scooper, a bowl and a spoon, and try yourself one of these other flavors. What are you waiting for?
