Alcohol and fertility are very much related. It is an established fact that alcohol impairs fertility. Even moderate levels of alcohol are known to affect fertility in both men and women.

Here let us see how alcohol consumption can adversely affect fertility in men. One of the major issues is that alcohol consumption reduces sperm density. Alcohol consumption can lead to abnormalities in the shape and size of the sperm, which can affect fertility. It is also a truth that drinking affects sperm mortality.

The shape of the sperm is very much a factor in male fertility. Alcohol can alter the oval shape of the sperms and also the shape of the sperm tail. It has also been found out that alcohol reduces the T serum levels, which is a cause of male infertility.

A person taking alcohol will have high estrogen levels, which can have adverse impact on the hormone and sperm development. It is also known to affect the sperm producing cells.

Alcohols lead to gynecomastia, which can reduce sexual interest in males.

Some say that moderate drinking will not affect fertility. It has been seen that drinking more than 4 ounces of alcohol can lead to infertility in men.

Well, if you are seriously thinking of having a child, then it is better to give up drinking, even if it is in small quantities.  Give up drinking if you want to become a father.
