The Zephyr of Love

Verse about the winds of change and how a true love holds in a storm

The winds of change cannot alter

The bond that we hold

Mighty oaks laid waste in a storm

Are just grasses compared to it

Bending, swaying and moving

-

The leaves cry at being tossed around

Our love never cries

In the face of gusts amazing

Our love  is true love

Lasting – outlasting any typhoon

-

People comment behind us

They have their own ideas

But the secrets we share

Can never be breathed to another soul

Gasping are they when they see us together

Let them blow!

-

The winds of change will never slow

The things we have done together

Let them huff and puff in envy

At the bind they see

Let them whistle like the wind in the Casuarinas

Let us hold strong!

-

And breathe life into our own coupling

As storms build all around us

The closer our love holds true

The jittery making gusts only soothe our hearts

The unsettling breeze only brings steadfast meditation for you and I

-

No wind can rip asunder

No changing patterns – let the others change their ways

Fill me with your gentle breath...

As if breathing life into a dead man

Let me smell the scent of you touch

Let my nose detect fragrance sublime

Carried to me on your gentle presence

-

Let everything that can drift and float

Fly away on the breeze

Like the sails of a magnificent clipper

Fill with prevailing winds of the seven seas

Because you being here with me

Is the zephyr of my love

This is a very good poem! Great opening line, and the “wind” theme is really worked out well! Loved it!
