How important are pictures to an article?
Do pictures add or detract from the article you have submitted? Should you rethink the application or placement of the pictures you thought about using? Both those will be given ample directives in this helpful material.
In articles, the pictures can reveal detail and provide great assistance to the words. Many people learn from pictures rather than words printed under them. Since some written material is becoming smaller, pictures give information that might even be overlooked in the printed matter. The smaller print is due to the amount of words necessary to be posted on sold items. More words, same space, hence smaller letters. Rather than struggle, the pictures often take on the focus of an article. This event, when practiced, makes the pictures more valuable than ever.
Pictures often soften the words to relax and add enjoyment to written material. Flowers or an appropriate picture to educational material, help the reader absorb move fully as they continue to the end. Pictures can supply much information or suggestions of the words too. If an object is advertised properly with words and pictures, the winning combination is achieved.
One annoyance, to some, is the interference of pictures during a read when time is of importance. The volleying around the pictures seems to agitate the smooth reading wanted for the time allowed. Professionals do not put pictures throughtout the written material to take concentration from the words, but to add to the effectiveness of the delivery of the article. Most technical and medical material is not enhanced by pictures intertwined within the article itself. Pictures offered for viewing, by choice, is preferred. This can be done by leading the reader to them should they wish to look during the read or not. That pause, most often times, does not alienate the reader by picture direction. By making pictures an option during reading, much is satisfied in those stated instances.
Especially well done photographs are extremely well received. If out of focus or inappropriate in any way, this disturbs both the ability to concentrate on the write and the picture. Much effectiveness is taken away when colors that are disturbing to the written words are in the picture also. Softer, blander tones bring a sense of quiet and sereneness. The vivid, bright tones set the read as more brisk adventure in reading.
Reading without pictures is the writer's choice. This idea to eliminate pictures allows the reader to imagine , for themselves while reading the materail without suggestives pictures. So often today one is subjected to what is presented that we, at times, take what is offered and do as it is presented. The writer can select the presentation of a picture or not while that writer thinks of the reader instead. There is little to do when pictures detract from the written material except to ignore the pictures. The photos do not serve any purpose to that peson wanting a non disturbed read, except annoyance.
Structure and placement of pictures are equally important. When an article has a primary subject well placed with the photograph, it creates a sense of tranquility for the reader. Consideration for the full uniformity of the entire photo should be considered with diligence. Cropping and centering along with all complimentary attributes to good photography should be learned and exercised when posting pictures. Looking at other articles and the structure will and can be most helpful to the beginner.
If at all possible be objective to your material. Read your materials before it gets delivered to others. Read it as if you are reading and looking at the pictures, for the first time. An editor to ones own material can pick up mistakes in picture placement by feeling the proposed publishing. Learn how to critique your own, so pictures add rather than subtract from your material. Use the rule of 3 reads before it leaves your hands. Inspect the pictures for the pointers mentioned three times as well.

Great ideas on pictures.
Thanks for the ideas on pictures in articles. I feel that is one area I really need to work on. I only have one article here so far, but I have contributed content to other sites before. I don’t feel as if I have been using pictures as effectively as I could be, even when I am using pictures.
hi, how to keep pictures in content…please tell me…
well, nice work…
A picture worth thousand words. Good tips!
I try on Triond to include pics, but it doesn’t always work. It would be nice if either of these sites let you write in ‘Word’, complete with pics, and upload the shebang.
Thanks,
Clay
Awesome tips. I will have to reread this to digest it all. Triond has a habit of tampering with pictures, but this may not be common now since they have changed submission, however, I noted that we cannot now use clip art. I love that stuff. ^^
