Giving cash this holiday season? Here are some unique ways to give money!

Are you giving someone money as a Christmas gift this year?  Are you searching for a creative and unique way give the cash?  Want to give a Christmas gift that won't sit in their closet, unused and unappreciated? Need a fun and amusing gift for a "Dirty Santa" gift exchange?  Here are seven creative and unique ideas to give money as a Christmas present.

Creative Way to Give Money #1: In a Bar of Soap

This is a two-in-one Christmas gift! For this one, I recommend visiting a craft store such as Hobby Lobby or Michael's for a soap-making kit.  Put your craft skills to work to form a bar of soap with the money sealed inside!  You can even tease the recipient a little and not show what the denomination is.  With this Christmas gift, you can promote good hygiene and let them choose their present.  It requires a little extra work on your part, but the personal touch is worth it.

Creative Way to Give Money #2: Wrapped as a Star, Shirt, Tree or Tie

This fabulous Christmas gift will definitely be memorable. The site  http://www.foldinmoney.com  produces kits to help fold the bill of your choice into a cute holiday star, shirt, or cake. You can wrap it in a small jewelry box or Christmas themed tin. (If you look to the left, you can see images of the money sculptures from the foldinmoney.com website. To order a kit, search for "foldin money" on Amazon.com or click here for the direct link.  (You can order custom orders designed for the giver from the website.) This is the perfect Christmas gift for college students, teens, your baby-sitter, dog sitter, child's teacher, newspaper boy (or girl) and more. It is also a one-of-a-kind gift for a "Dirty Santa" or white elephant gift exchange. (Trust me, it will be one that everyone fights over.) It's an adorable Christmas gift!

Creative Way to Give Money #3: In a Money Puzzle

This Christmas gift is great for teens and college students, but I would not recommend this one for your mailman or child's teacher.  It's a small brain teaser where the recipient must use their mind and dexterity to reach the cash.  To purchase, just google "money puzzle" and you'll find several online stores that will be happy to have your business.  You might also search on eBay.

Creative Way to Give Money #4: In a Giant Box

This one's funny and thoughtful. Find a large box - the bigger the better! Fill it newspaper and something heavy (a brick works great), place the money in an envelope and wrap it.  This is perfect for teens.  They'll wonder what they got and might be surprised when they discover what it is! You could also wrap it in an odd-shaped container - like a poster holder.  My husband and I did this one year as a Christmas gift for my husband's brother and everyone got a kick out it.

Creative Way to Give Money #5: In a Wallet or Purse

This is another two-in-one gift that the recipient will definitely be grateful for.  Purchase a nice wallet or handbag and put the cash in it! Hopefully your grandchild or niece (or whoever you bought it for) will not miss the money!

Creative Way to Give Money #6: On a Roll of Toilet Paper

This Christmas gift is great for someone with a good sense of humor.  Take a roll of toilet paper and unravel it some. Tape money throughout the paper, and then roll it back up.  It's definitely not your typical Christmas gift for sure!

Creative Way to Give Money #7: Wrapped Around Crayons or Pencils

If you're giving money to an older child, this is a colorful way to do so.  Purchase a small box of crayons and wrap the bills around them.  I can almost guarantee the child will have never received this gift before!

Cash is definitely something that everyone can use and enjoy. And, if you're going to give it, why not give it creatively? This ideas make fantastic gifts!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
