Peach Dumplings

A fun, fruit-filled dessert you're sure to love!

You know it happens - you buy the fruit, you wait for the fruit to be ripe, you forget about the fruit, the fruit goes bad.  Sound familiar?  Well, here is a great recipe for you fruit lovers out there that makes for a wonderful dessert.  It's great topped with vanilla ice cream too!

Two large peaches peeled and quartered

One Cup of Sugar

One Stick of Butter Melted

Two packages of Crescent Rolls

One Cup of Water

Topping:

One Tablespoon of Sugar

One-half of a Tablespoon of Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Take a quartered piece of fresh peach.  Unroll your packages of crescent roll dough and divide in to individual triangle shaped pieces.  Roll it into a crescent dough square so that the dough is wrapped around it and pinch it closed so that you cannot see the peach at all.  Do with all peach slices and place in a greased eight by eight (8x8) baking dish.  In a bowl mix together the one cup of sugar, the one cup of water and the butter and pour over your peach wrapped rolls.  Sprinkle with the topping of cinnamon and sugar.  Bake in your 350 degree oven for thirty (30) minutes.  Serve immediately.

The sweetness of the peaches combined with the syrupy sauce make this one sticky and sweet dessert!  Spoon extra sauce over ice cream (should you serve this a la mode) and enjoy!  This will become a favorite dessert on a cold winter's day or night!

**Note** This dessert also works well with apples or pears to make individual tarts or pies.
