Farraddays’ Steakhouse, located inside the Isle of Capri Casino in Black Hawk, CO is one of Colorado’s best kept secrets when it comes to the quest for the perfect steak. Although it is located outside the Denver metro area, the dining experience is well worth the drive.

Atmosphere:

It’s easy to forget about the action and noise of the casino once you are seated inside Farraddays’ Steakhouse, simply because you aren’t exposed to the normal auditory distractions one might expect. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and features faux topical maps along the far walls. If you are lucky enough to snag a booth, you’ll enjoy a more intimate dining and conversational experience than you will at a table.

Farraddays’ slogan is all about “casual elegance” and this certainly fits the wide range of clientele. The attire of patrons ranges from suits and little black dresses down to shorts and tee shirts. You are more likely to see other diners dress up on the weekends versus the weeknights, but feel free to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

Service:

The service at Farraddays’ Steakhouse is fantastic and hovers just below the five star mark. Upon being seated, bottled water will be poured for your party and a bread basket will be offered. The servers are always happy to offer recommendations when it comes to food or beverage choices and they are very attentive to your every need. Please note that dinner reservations are encouraged but not required.

Food:

Farraddays’ offers an impressive selection of appetizers, salads, and soups including Warm Prime Rib Bruchetta, Baby Spinach with Goat Cheese Salad and Traditional Lobster Bisque.

Farraddays’ Steakhouse offers a handful of house entrées including the Seared Colorado Plains Antelope Tenderloin (highly recommended). The house entrées do come with various side dishes.

You can also order steak and seafood as main entrées by themselves. Choices include Australian Lobster Tail, Lamb Chops and the Porterhouse Steak (highly recommended). You may also choose a side sauce to enhance your entrée choice. A la carte side dishes are available to accompany your main entrée and the selection includes: Truffle Salted Kennebec Fries, Maple Caramelized Sweet Corn, and Baked Macaroni and Four Cheese.

The desert menu at Farraddays’ will test even the strongest patron’s willpower. The cheesecake is flown in from New York City and the Warm Chocolate Lava Cake is heavenly-although if you choose this selection, you will want to order it beforehand as it takes about thirty minutes to prepare.

Price:

The price range of Farraddays’ Steakhouse is comparable to other high-end steakhouses in the Denver area. Most of the main entrees are under forty dollars and seafood is priced at the market rate. It is important to note that the a la carte side dishes may seem a bit pricey at first glance, but keep in mind that in most cases two people can easily share the generous portions provided.

Overall, Farraddays’ Steakhouse is just shy of a five star rating, and only because of its location. If you happen to be in or near Black Hawk, CO, it is highly recommended that you plan on dining at this restaurant, as it easily rivals the most popular steakhouses in Metro Denver and surrounding areas.
