The scripture states that God has plans to prosper, not to harm and to give hope and a future. This message is one teens and young adults need to remember. In teaching a Sunday School Lesson on God's plans, have the teens search deep within them self to see if their life is fitting into God's plan for them.

Read Jeremiah 23:11 to the class. Ask the class what their long term plans are. Most will say college and some might even say college and then what their profession in life will be. Now ask the class to expand on their answers. In what manner do they want to lead their life? Do they want to have a comfortable home. Do they want to do well financially? Do they want to have a career they enjoy? All these things fit into "plans to prosper you". God not only wants to prosper you in the above but he also wants you to prosper as a Christian. As you become closer to God the more you will prosper. Ask the class members: What are ways you can become closer to Jesus?

Stress very hard this part of the scripture ---"and to not harm you". Tell the class members that God will never harm them. God is a loving father that adores his children. Just as a loving father on earth, God does not plan harm on his children. In fact, he protects them with special care. Have the class think about Guardian Angles. God has provided each of us with one or more of these special gifts from God. Where humans do run into harm is from Satan. Ask the class members how they think Satan is looking to harm them? Tell the teens that Satan always tries to paint bad choices with beautiful colors. Some examples---This (drug) will make you feel great. Or, just try this one time, it won't hurt you. It won't hurt to drink and drive this one time, you will make it home. Look at these people, they are making it fine without God, so can you. The list can go on and on! Tell the class members that it we listen the Holy Spirit God’s voice within us, will always instruct us on the right path to take.

"And to give you a future." God has the most wonderful plans for you. These do not include drug abuse, drinking problems, STD, failure and depression . Even though God does not plan these things for us, he does give us free choice. If we go down the wrong road he also offers us forgiveness, through the death of our Savior on the cross. Ask the teens how they can increase their chance of fulfilling God’s plans for them? They can pray, come to church, read the bible and follow it's teaching and very importantly, they can surround themselves with fellow Christians. The fellow Christians can give support and love. They also will not be around situations where teens can lose their way.

To conclude the lesson, ask the teens to look deep inside them self and ask.........Am I helping or hindering God’s plan in my life? If they are hindering God’s plan, now is the perfect time to as God into their life and make a change,, by placing God in charge.

Say a prayer:
Dear God:
Help me to place my life into your hands. Let me lead my life by your ways and prosper in all my actions and deeds. Amen
