Reality Movie
Something that was made quite earlier than the reality shows of these days. A review on the movie “Real Life".
Today is a day of reality TV. There are innumerable TV shows based on what they called reality. These fetch good amount of revenue for the channels and also increase the number of eyeballs for the channels. This is what we are seeing now. Long before such things ever happened some foresaw what was going to happen. Albert Brooks perhaps foresaw the future before making this huge comedy and filling the audiences with unstoppable laughter medicine
You see in this movie the attempts of a director to make a movie on the real life of a family. The attempt was made to shoot in the reels the life of all the members of a family for one long year and after that edit that and make a movie out of that. Things are not that easy as they seem. Making a movie is not that always easy and that too on a real family. Huge problems get in the way of the director and so does in the life of the members of the family as they live under the camera.
The movie is a huge comedy as is apt for the movie industry now. It quite vividly makes a mockery out of the TV industry now that is doing nothing more than making reality shows. This review would certainly be incomplete without giving special appreciation of the screenplay of the movie. The movie posed several adversities for the screenplay writer. First there was a film within a film. That means there was a director making the film in the movie. After that he had to make the dialogues of the characters appear as they are living in front of the camera. Then he has to make changes such that it appears that are talking as if they are aware of the camera. And the most difficult of all tasks is that make everything humorous. Indeed a great challenge and was nicely met with.
The next thing that I would love to mention is about the director of the movie Albert Brooks. Well he is not only the director of the movie but also he is the director inside the movie. That was indeed a challenging this to do. But the best part of the role that he assigned for himself is that he made satirical comic voyages across his role which seemed very real and very natural.
