The 31 Horror Movies You Must See for the Halloween Season

Some of our picks for great October entertainment.

Nothing stimulates the nervous system like a good horror movie! Scary movies are like roller coasters: You know you are safe but it's very frightening nonetheless! Make it a point to 'scare' yourself every night in October by watching a Horror Classic. Here is our list of 31 movies that you must see...or re-see!

1. Halloween - The first one. The original. You never actually see anyone get hacked up in this movie. There is no explanation for Michael Meyers behavior, which makes it our number one pick for 'creepy.

2. House of Wax - Vincent Price. No more to be said. Vincent was king!

3. Silent Hill - Who would think that a group of nurses could be so scary.

4. Pet Semetary - Unsettling because we'd all do the same thing.

5.  Storm of the Century - The decision they have to make is very uncomfortable.

6.  The Exorcist - Possessed children are always scary.

7.  Se7en - Creepy and no one cries like Brad Pitt.

8.  Salem's Lot - The original movie. Great vampire story.

9.  Alien - Excellent science fiction.

10. Aliens - One of the few sequels as good or better than the original.

11. Altered States - When science meets.....whatever it is that science meets.

12. The Ring - A truly scary movie.

13. The Grudge - The Japanese can be very scary people.

14. Idle Hands - A dose of comedic scary. Very funny movie.

15. Final Destination - You can only avoid death temporarily.

16. Saw - This plot will make you uncomfortable.

17. Cloverfield - A great movie for monster movie fans.

18. Godzilla - The original. See what was scary before good special effects.

19. The Langoliers - What do you do when everyone on your plane disappears but you?

20. The Tingler - Vincent Price the king of horror.

21. Twilight Zone, the Movie - Can Dan Akroyd be scary? Yes, he can.

22. The Stand - Diseases are scary. Dreams are scary.

23. Andromeda Strain - The original. Viruses are scary.

24. Phantasm - Murderous metal balls and undertakers can give you bad dreams.

25. Hellraiser - A guy with pins in his head from another dimension. Need I say more?

26. Rest Stop - One of the hardest to watch movies ever made.

27. The Fog - The original. It's not too scary, but a great movie.

28. Halloween 3, Season of the Witch - I dare you not to get the song stuck in your head.

29. Arachnophobia - Spiders and more spiders, and spiders scare everyone!

30. The Birds - No one does it better than Hitchcock.

31. House on Haunted Hill - The original is another Vincent Price classic.

AND and honorable mention to Candyman....Candyman....Candyman....Candyman......

Dude Candy man still freaks me out. I was scared to death of Freddy Kruger when I was a kid what happened to Nightmare on Elm Street that is a classic.
