Keep your hands looking young with these easy tips on hand care maintenance.

Your hands bear the brunt of daily life and chores. Your hands can show your age with the appearance of sun damage and age spots. They can become dry and crackly and make you seem even older than your real age. Follow these easy and healthy steps and your hands will look their best for years to come.

1. Exfoliate. Use a gentle peel or microdermabrasion scrub once a week. These types of products remove dull-looking and old skin, lighten dark spots, and even out your skin tone. These can be purchased at any drug store or large department store.

2. Moisturize. Keep multiple tubes of hand cream, and place in strategic locations around the house. Put it by different sinks, your bedside table, your desk and one in the car- so you can reapply throughout the day. You don't need to get overpriced lotions. We like Alveeno.

3. Polish. Since age-related changes in circulation or pigmentation can cause nails to become discolored, apply sheer-white polish as a base coat, the top with a colorful lacquer. Men can use clear nail polish to enhance the look of their nails.

Repeat these steps to maintain healthy and younger looking hands. In addition, wash your hands with a gentle non-abrasive soap. Follow up with moisturizer whenever you wash. Washing your hands often is essential to prevent sickness, but it dries the hands and can cause cracking. These techniques can also be applied to your feet to keep them moisturized as well. Your feet also take a beating throughout the day and also deserve special care to keep you walking tall!
