This is an article with suggestions on how to eat to manage your Diabetes.

I grew up with both parents having been diagnosed with diabetes. As I grew older I learned how to cook to reduce the elevation of sugar levels not only for my parents health, but for my own. If you are diagnosed with diabetes or have a high risk of developing the disease in the future, the following will give you tips on how to eat yourself healthy.

You can manage your glucose (sugar) levels with a well-balanced diet of foods that will help you keep your glucose levels healthy. Certain foods can actually help you do this naturally, the first step is understanding what might make your glucose levels spike and which ones help lower them.

Eating a healthy well-balanced breakfast is important, people who skip breakfast run the risk of over-eating at later meals. Instead of having cereal, try having a breakfast that is high in protein, such as scrambled eggs (using imitation eggs will save you the extra fat and calories). Try adding some vegetables like onions and peppers. The protein in the eggs will stabilize blood sugar levels and keep you feeling fuller longer.
Lunchtime could be a salad with diced chicken and a side of fruit. Eating fiber-rich vegetables helps control the blood sugar and can also reduce the appetite. Also try using a vinegar-based salad dressing, studies have shown that vinegar may reduce glucose and insulin levels.
Avoid starches such as pasta, bread and potatoes for dinner. Carbohydrates can elevate the blood sugar; instead try grilled salmon with roasted vegetables. If you are a carbohydrate addict, brown rice is better than white rice.
Cinnamon is also a natural way to lower glucose levels, try adding it to low-fat plain yogurt or sugar-free rice pudding for a healthy dessert.
Knowing what triggers your glucose levels is a sure fire way to keep you healthy now and down the line. If you have a loved one that is at risk of developing diabetes or currently has diabetes, help them adopt this way of eating to ensure their wellness.
