Mahatma Gandhi disrespected in India on his last birthday

Mahatma Gandhi is such a personality who does not need any introduction. Still I should be humble to state that M. K.Gandhi is popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi in India. People of India has awarded him the most prestgious title of ‘Father of the Nation’. Mahatma Gandhi dedicated his life for the services of his motherland. He practiced nonviolence truly to the spirit of the term. He fought against the British Empire with his firm and peaceful tool of nonviolence and helped the Indians wining independence. In 1948, within 2 years after freedom of India Mahatma Gandhi was brutally assassinated by one Hindu fanaic named Nathuram Godse in 1948.
Millions of people were stirred by Mahatma Gandhi's nonviolent movement. After his demise his image entered into Indian paper currency and his tenets were thrown out to the dustbins. The state of India has favored violence against the very people who have one day taken oath at the call of Mahatma Gandhi.
This year neglect of the ''Father of the Nation'' has touched the zenith. The central and the state governments have been marked to be busy with things other than Mahatma Gandhi. Programs of the governments have been lifeless and persons assigned for the job have been visibily insincere. Most of the national dailies in India seems to have decided to keep silent on the occasion of his birthday. The electronic media under Indian ownership seems to have favored to put him into oblivion. None of the hundreds of the channels having Indian ownership has thought of paying homage to him or to highlight anything from his life and works although for India it is the high time to campaign for peace more than ever.
Yes, this is the picture of 2nd October, 2009 in India.
# On 4th October, the printing media in India have found occasions to compensate the mistakes made. A few articles on Mahatma Gandhi have been published.
