Thinking of saving on money, here are some ways to save on laundry detergent

  If you are looking to save money and want to use a more natural means to do laundry and clean your home,     here are few suggestions to make your own homemade products.

LAUNDRY DETERGENT

You will need any bar soap of your choice, borax, and washing soda (Arm and Hammer). Grate the bar soap, then put 1 cup of borax and washing soda in a food processor or blender or mix it in a bowl, and place in a container.

DISHWASHING DETERGENT

Just take 1 cup of borax and 1 cup of washing soda and mix together, then just use 2 teaspoons for each of your dishwasher load.

BATHROOM CLEANER
You need to mix white or cider vinegar with water and put in a spray bottle. Use it for bathroom sinks, shower, shower doors, tile
Toilet Bowl cleaner- mix lemon juice with borax.

ALL PURPOSE CLEANER
Mix 4 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 quart of warm water. Just pour on a clean sponge or damp cloth and wipe the area that needs to be cleaned. This works great for kitchen appliances, kitchen counters and cleaning the inside of refrigerator. Take everything out of refrigerator and clean it with this solution.

SINK CLEANER/TUB CLEANER
For the Porcelain Sink and Tub- use squeezed lemon or lemon juice with borax
If you have a stainless sink- Use baking soda, salt and vinegar. Sprinkle baking soda over sink, rub in with a cloth or sponge, rinse with water. Then place vinegar and salt in a spray bottle. Dry the sink with damp cloth.

GLASS CLEANER
You need to mix in a spray bottle- 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol. Use on mirrors, glass and windows for a great shine.

CARPET CLEANER AND STAIN REMOVER
For deodorizing your carpet- sprinkle baking soda or cornstarch, let it sit for 5 mins then vacuum.
To get rid of carpet Stains- mix 1 cup of baking soda, cornstarch and water and use a toothbrush or small brush to remove the stain.

FURNITURE POLISH
Squeeze fresh lemon and mix olive oil or olive oil with lemon juice and place in spray bottle or container and use a cloth to polish the furniture. You can also place olive oil with white vinegar in a spray bottle and use a cloth to polish your furniture.

BRASS CLEANER
Add Vinegar and add salt to a damp rag or sponge and wipe. Then rinse with water, then use another clean cloth to dry.
