What your getting into if you are thinking of owning large parrots such as macaws or cockatoos.

This short article will tell you about what you are getting into if your thinking of owning a large parrot such as a macaw or a cackatoo.

The first thing you should know before buying any large parrot is the space and time you need for it. You will need to commit to the loud screeching and sounds of the parrot, as it would make in it's natural habitat. Calling for others or even calling for attention every now and then. These large parrots are like small children they like attention every minute of every day, but if you have two they will entertain and keep eachother busy. When i used to own 2 Blue and Gold macaws they were great fun at first, but when they got bored they really became irritating. So i went and talked to them and sat close to them and played with them. They eased up.

The space is a important part of having large parrots. These birds need a good amount of space because they have a large wingspan and are large birds themselves they need space to move around. These are the cage measurements i would recommend, 60" Tall X 45.5" Deep X 30" Wide Stainless Steel. (It can be smaller than this what ever suits you and keeps your bird happy)

The prices for large parrots such as macaws and cockatoos are mostly over 1000 dollars if you buy them from a legit source, i recommend buying it directly from a breeder around your city. You should always pay the breeder in person so you won't get scammed. Also look out for online ads for parrot sails that are located in countries such as Cameroon because alot of people there say they will send you the parrot for free you just need to pay for the transportation. I know this because of other articles and because this happened to me, i was to get a African Grey parrot and they're ad caught my eye because the price was so low. When i ordered they called me at my house and asked for information, but i didn't fall for it, i went online and saw that there were hundreds and thousands of websites saying that these ads are mainly a scam. So i cancelled everything. So make sure you go the safe path and buy your feathery friends from qualified breeders.

If you would like to find qualified breeders in and around Canada you can go to parrotplace.ca and when you press the name of the parrot such as ,African Grey,Macaws,Cockatoo etc. it will give you a list of as many different qualified breeders in the different provinces across Canada.

Here is the United States list of breeders, on this site you will press the name of breeder shop or website with the short titles for the areas such as Florida-FL and California-CA.

Thanks for reading this article i hope it was informative for you.
