How to become an Affiliate and How to find the right products to promote.

An Affiliate is someone who takes other peoples products and promotes them. When someone buys that product through the affiliate, they get a commission. (Anywhere from 10 to 150 dollars in some cases.)

So how do you become an affiliate?

There are tons, and I mean TONS, of ebooks and products on the Internet that are being marketed by affiliates. And they are making BIG money! So how do you get your piece of the pie? How do you become an affiliate marketer?
The easiest way is by joining an organization called Clickbank.

The Internet is a BIG place. And there are literally MILLIONS of products out there for affiliates to promote. But instead of taking hours, maybe days, to search through pages and pages of sites, you can join a site called Clickbank.

Clickbank is a marketplace designed specifically for Affiliates. It literally has hundreds of thousands of products in their database for affiliates to promote. And here’s the beautiful part about it, when you join Clickbank, you INSTANTLY become an affiliate of every single product they have in their database.
Imagine, instead of having to go on Google and find products by searching through tons of pages, and then having to sign up for them all individually, you can simply join clickbank and become an affiliate of hundreds of thousands of products. Talk about a time saver.

So, now you have joined clickbank (or will join) and have officially become an Affiliate. Now you have access to thousands upon thousands of products, how do you find the right one to promote?  This is one of the reasons countless people fail in the business of Affiliate Marketing. They have access to all of these products and they have no idea which ones to promote.

Here’s the first step: find a category that you are interested in and that you know a little something about. For example, if you like dogs and know a little something about them, your category would be pets, sub-category dogs. The awesome thing about clickbank is that you can search through their database. So log into your Clickbank account, type in your keyword (in this case pets) and then select the category (animals or pets) and, if you want, a sub-category (in this case dogs) and after you hit the search button, you will find a list of products relative to your search.

Now here’s the REALLY cool part! Not only do you get a list of products relative to your search, you get to see which ones are really popular and which ones are not. Under every product listed is a red word that says “gravity”. Gravity is the amount of traffic that a particular product is getting. Next to gravity is a number. Usually the higher the number, the more popular a product is and the more traffic it is getting. So when you get a list of products for pets, or dogs, the product with the highest gravity is usually the product that is the best quality and the most popular. 9 times out of 10, that is the one you want to promote. Sometimes that is not the case, but I’ll get into that in my next lesson.

Now here’s another cool thing about clickbank, you not only get to see the most popular product, but you get to see how much they are willing to pay affiliates. Directly under the product listing to the extreme left is a number that tells you how much you will get when someone buys that product through you. Remember those 100-dollar commissions, this is how you find them. That number tells you how much you get for promoting that product. Usually when I look for a product to promote I look at the gravity of the product and then at how much they pay their affiliates. I have promoted tons of products that pay their affiliate over 100 dollars per sale. Imagine if you got 10 or 20 of those sales a month? What about in a week? At the end of this course you will have the ability and knowledge to do exactly that.

(For example, you are promoting pet grooming products, but is there a market for petting grooming products? Will anyone buy it?)
