Egg salad is one great egg recipe - and a great salad recipe. Egg salad is a traditional recipe that can be eaten on its own or made into an egg salad sandwich. Read on to learn how to make egg salad.

Egg Salad Recipe:

Depending on how much egg salad you want to make, put 5 to 12 eggs in cold water (cover the eggs with cold water) and put on the stove on High and bring to a boil.  Then, reduce to low/medium heat and allow eggs to continue to boil and simmer for 15 minutes.  You now have hard boiled eggs.

Dump the hot water off the eggs and replace it with cold water in order to cool the eggs.  Next, peel the eggs by cracking them against something hard and then peeling off the shell. Rinse the peeled egg and put in a bowl.   Continue peeling all the eggs and put them all in the bowl.  Using a chopper, chop up the eggs, add a few tablespoons of mayonnaise (amount of mayo depends on how many eggs you boiled).  Put in a squirt of regular mustard as well.  Mix it all together – if its too dry, add more mayonnaise until you’re happy with the consistency.

You can eat this egg salad served on greens for lunch or you can make an egg salad sandwich with it.  Some people add chopped onions or chopped olive into the salad, depending upon their tastes.

This is a very versatile and easy recipe.  If you pack it for someone for lunch, however, make sure you put an ice pack on it as the mayonnaise in it should be kept cold until eaten.  Congratulations – now you know how to make this traditional egg salad recipe for your family.
