"Second life" is simulation of avatar and not a "Second chance" for people who are addicted and have lost in this virtual world. Instead of carrying-on our self into the scary virtual world, give your self a "Second chance". Relive in reality.

It a very serious topic and I really felt a need to write on this issue. For me when I first heard about “Second life” and “Avatars” I just took it for fun.

However, when I recently read a story of British woman divorcing her husband after she discovered about his affair with a virtual woman and found him cheating on her forced me to think again.

For those who are not aware of term “Second life” let me brief you.

“Second life” is a life, which any human being aspires to lead his / her life the way they want. Now what difference does it make from the real life?

Well, the difference here is that it is all virtual simulation.

Players create their virtual character online and have freedom to do anything from playing sports, attending concerts, partying or even buying land. You name it and you will know that all is possible in this virtual world.

Now jumping back to the concern, I have with the “Second life” is that, are we so lost in the virtual world that we do not regret or miss our true and real world?

To make avatars online is a beautiful way to show your creativity and is good until it is used to have joy and fun. However, the real problem starts when person start living in this virtual world and enjoy it and without realizing, the reality of life and gets addicted to virtual world.

According to me, the concept called “Second life” is nothing but a virus, which not only have an effect on the relationship but also the character of a person itself.

The possible reason that make the virtual world so much alluring:

· Virtual world gives the confidence to a person who has low self-esteem.

· At an initial level, it would be for fun but when it shapes into syndrome is tough to realize.

· It could be that the person is not happy with his / her physical appearance and virtual avatars leave them ecstatic.

· Human hope and desire to have material things and to be a winner all time could be a reason as in their virtual world all is possible.

· With fast life, we humans have no time for each other. Thus, due to lack of togetherness and one’s loneliness virtual world becomes the source of contentment.

Hence, I can say that “Second life” is simulation of avatar and not a “Second chance” for people who are addicted and have lost themselves into this virtual world.

Instead of carrying-on our self into the scary virtual world, we should once give our self a “Second chance”.

We should believe in our self and take a “Second chance” to shape our future and change our destiny to our will. Relive in reality.
