Information Haven't you tried to manually add a game in Games Explorer and realize that the game has no cover, no rating, no info... Well, in this tutorial I'll show you how to add all that missing information.

Download and save this file for later use.

Let's Start:

1. Put a shortcut of your game in the Games Explorer folder.

2. Close Games Explorer window, press the Start button and type regedit in the search line and press enter.

3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameUX and search your game.

NOTE: The key values might be different from yours.

4. Once you find the key that belongs to your game, edit as follow:

  • In AppExePath put the target location of your game main executable file. (e.g. C:\Program Files\Illusion Softworks\Hidden & Dangerous 2\hd2.exe).
  • In ApplicationId put the xxx value founded in *GameDefinitiongameID="xxx", on the GameUXLegacyGDFs.txt file.

NOTE: Add just the value between commas.
  • In ConfigInstallType replace the value to 3.
  • Delete the Title Key.
  • Add a new String value (Right-click>New>String) and name it ConfigGDFBinaryPath, then in the value data space put C:\Windows\system32\GameUXLegacyGDFs.dll

NOTE: It should be look like this.

5. Close the Reg. Editor and open Games Explorer folder, wait 'till windows updates the game info and it should it be look like this:

5. Open Game Explorer and wait to update the info.

6. Now you must close Game Explorer.

7. Update the Reg. Editor by hitting the F5 key and replace the info as necessary.

NOTE: This is just the basic info only, you can fill the blank spaces if you like.

8. Now navigate to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\GameExplorer\GamesBoxArt and paste the cover that you saved before.

NOTE: The AppData folder is hidden by default you can read more about it in this tutorial by Brink.
