Designer Picks for Fall Fashion 2009, Designer Clothing and Designer Shoes

The pea coat, in wool or a similar fabric, is still in.  This coat looks like a double-breasted blazer at first glance, but it also has a military feel about it.  Buy this coat in a dark neutral color (dark neutrals are very much in vogue for this fall) so you can wear it with anything.  Examples are white, navy blue, black, gray, brown, etc.

 All kinds of hats are in for fall – taller ones such as the bucket hat are in along with hats that fit close to the head like a tam.  Many of the hats in fashion resemble 1940’s style.

Speaking of the 1940’s, designer picks this year include many items from this period.  These include tightly-fitted coats and blazers that show off curves.  Additionally, pencil skirts are really in right now – that sexy secretary thing is back in style (did it ever go out?).

Lots of layered clothing in dark, neutral colors are in for fall.  Pile on those dark turtlenecks, sweaters, trousers, and jackets.  Mono-chromatic is the key here – stay in one hue but in different textures for a very elegant look.

Fall wouldn’t be Fall without the boots.  Get them in short high-heeled boots, high boots that go up over the knee, or a mid-length that you can wear with anything.  The runway in New York featured lots of boots with straps for a very daring look.  Wear your boots with dresses, skirts, slacks – pretty much anything.  Don’t you love designer shoes?

Leggings are back – wear them in dark colors under skirts and dresses.  They are especially handy for looking sexy and feminine without being too revealing for day.  Long gloves are also back in style this year – get designer ones or ones that look designer in suede or leather.  Very sophisticated.
