This article looks at eight accessories that work well as part of a resort getaway wardrobe.

Accessories are a traveler’s best friend, because they have the ability to put a fresh spin on your limited wardrobe. When it comes to selecting accessories for a resort getaway there are several that will work twice as hard for you. This article lists several great accessories that you should consider packing.

1. A classy straw bag

If you purchase a classy looking straw bag, it can work as a carry on bag for the plane; take you from lunch to a spot of resort store shopping, or right through to lounging by the pool or beach.

2. Hoop earrings

Classic hoop earrings suit casual resort looks, right through to drinks at the bar at sunset. Choose whatever color suits your skin tone. Don’t be afraid to wear oversized skinny hoops at a resort destination, they are a trendy way to fit right in with the laidback feel.

3. A silk scarf

There are many uses for a silk scarf during a resort vacation. You can use one to tie over your head during windy times. You can use one as a headband, use it as a belt, or thread it through your beach bag. Styles in light airy colors, or bright prints look amazing in a resort setting.

4. Lightweight pashminas

A lightweight pashmina can work in a variety of ways. If you are coming from a cooler climate it can work as a scarf on the journey. During the day at your destination they work well as sarongs. In the evenings they are great draped over your shoulders to combat a cold chill, or prevent being eaten alive by insects.

5. Hat

Packing a sun hat for protection obviously makes logical sense, but if you choose a hat that is also fashionable rather then just a sports hat it can create quite a stylish appearance. Consider glamorous oversized straw hats for a luxurious feel.

6. Sunglasses

Sunglasses are another practical necessity which will protect your eye region from U.V light and the annoyance of glare. However, they can also impart different looks and create different moods. Aviators impart a classic cool look, colored plastic frames can inject a pop of color and sunglasses with ornamentation like diamantes can add a little sophistication.

7. Flat Sandals

Shoes are one of the heaviest and most cumbersome of accessories to pack. If you choose a basic pair of flat sandals, you’ll find they meet nearly all your footwear requirements.

8. Full length sarong

A full sized sarong can be tied in a wide variety of different ways, making it an invaluable accessory choice for a resort getaway. You can fold them in halves to create a skirt style sarong. Tie them around the bust, or over a shoulder to create a dress. Or fold them into a triangle to form a strapless top. An embellished style with a little sequin or embroidery detailing will add an extra element to your appearance.

Whatever accessories you decide to take, enjoy your trip!
