Makeup for a Flapper Costume

The best makeup for an amazing flapper costume this halloween.

The flapper costume is one of my favorites to use for the casual Halloween party.  In this application you will learn to apply make up for the best looking flapper costume at any Halloween get together.  This application is pretty easy to do and you should have most of the required make up for it or at least find it locally and cheap.

For this application you will need:

Moisturizer

Foundation

Concealer

Brow Brush

Charcoal Grey or Black Crème Eye Shadow

Black Eye Liner

Black Mascara

Eye Shadow Brush

Eye Lash Curler

Dark Burgundy Crème Lip Color

Lip Brush

First, prepare your skin with an appropriate moisturizer.  Only apply foundation and concealer, in a skin tone matching color, if it is absolutely necessary.

Next, Brush your eye brows up and back through the outside corner of your brows.  This is a great flapper look.

Then, line your entire eye, from corner to corner, with black eye liner.  You will want to apply the liner directly onto the rims of your eye lids or as close to them as possible.  Try to avoid going into your lash line.

Now, you will need to apply crème eye shadow to your eye lids working around your entire eye and just outside of your pencil line.  The shadow should be blended to soften the look a bit.  Use your finger tip to blend away from the eye liner, into your lash line and beyond.  The top eye lid should have a larger portion of shadow than your bottom lid.

Next, curl your eye lashes and apply one coat of black mascara.  I would not recommend using a mascara formula that is for lash extension or a dramatic effect of any kind.  The eye shadow is what should be emphasized, not your eye lashes.

Last, apply a burgundy colored crème lip color with a lip brush to your lips.  Blot your lip color and apply a second coat.  You may blot a second time for a more matte effect.  You do not want to choose any lip color that has a frosted or glittery effect to it.

Optional:  I like to apply a beauty mark when dressing as a flapper for Halloween.  You may put it about an inch below the outer corner of one eye.  Also, check out my Marilyn Monroe make up application for another great idea on hoe to apply a beauty mark.
