Within the scientific community, remote viewing has garnered much attention. Research has been ongoing to investigate and validate its existence.

Remote viewing is accomplished via the intuitive processes or the sub-conscious capability of the mind. This technique is utilized to describe a place, an individual, an object or an event, unknown to the viewer, regardless of time or distance.

The term was coined in the 70s at Stanford Research Institute. A program to investigate the validity and potential of remote viewing was conducted by Harold Puthoff and Russell Targ as part of a series of investigations into quantum mechanics in life processes.

The CIA was also involved. This agency funded research into remote viewing over a twenty-year period. The goal? The application would be geared toward intelligence gathering.

How Does Remote Viewing Work?
Remote viewing is a controlled shifting of awareness, performed in the normal waking state. The sub-conscious mind is tapped to provide a window on information that is not readily available to the conscious mind. A research session involves a viewer, a monitor, and an analyst. Remote viewing sessions are double blind, to prevent the viewer's conscious faculties from injecting logical explanations into the session.

Remote Viewing Requires Training and Practice.
The brain generates electrical waves of varying frequencies called beta, alpha, theta, and delta. 14+ is the beta range or conscious level; alpha is next, at 7-4 cycles per second (cps); theta equals 4-7cps; while delta translates to 1/2 to 4 cps.

  • Researchers have discovered that controlled and actively directed alpha brain wave activity is the key to remote viewing.
  • Going into or reaching the alpha state is a simple process of controlled relaxation where both the physical body and the mind are brought into a state of deep relaxation. Induction techniques are helpful to assist the body/mind in this endeavor.
  • The alpha level of the mind can then be used to develop intuitive processes that can be used for remote viewing.

All humans possess these innate abilities. Down through the centuries, a small number of people activated these abilities naturally. Evidence of this has been recorded since ancient times.

As science transcends the boundaries of the human mind, light will continue to be shed on the fascinating and mysterious process of remote viewing.
