Varkala beach: calmness and beauty unite here

Varkala on the southwest coast of India is where you can feel the calmness of your soul and body. A serene beach down in the Gods Own country Kerala, Varkala is really mesmerising with its calmness and beauty.

The vast stretch of silver sands is really enchanting to watch. Just lie down on the sands and enjoy the cool breeze that kisses you. Watching the sun coming out from the horizon or watching it go down deep into the waters is really beautiful. Also known as Papanasam, the silver sands are known to wash away one’s sins if one takes a bath here. A bath in the varkala waters is thought to be holistic.

The Janardhana Swamy Temple, which is about 200 years old, is also a piece of attraction, which you cannot miss.

Varkala beaches are also known for its rocky cliffs and the coconut grooves. From the edge of the cliffs, you can have a bird’s eye view of the sea far away and also see the glorious sun go down the horizon.

Swimming is really a fun here but one has to be careful of the string waves. Scuba diving, para sailing, beach volleyball and wind surfing are other things that you can go for.
