For ten years One Piece is being published. One Chapter each week and now it has 500+ chapters but it is still as popular as before. Why? Find out right here.

There are so many manga and so little time to read them. So I thought I should list the top  best manga I ever read for you guys. One Piece: Yup, coming right at the top is One Piece. It’s the best a manga can ever get. One of my favorite and its loved world-wide. You probably know about it but still, here’s a review for you.

Review:

Luffy, the main character has a big dream and that’s to become the pirate king. Yes folks, it’s a story about a kid (more like young man, since he is 18) who wants to become a pirate in the Era of pirate.

So it’s mostly an old age story. Now what is a pirate king?? Well, it’s the era of pirates and there are lots of pirates. Among them was a pirate who was called the Pirate King. Why?? It’s simply because his pirate group was the strongest of the whole world. How do we know he was the strongest? It’s simply because the World Government (Just like United Nation), the strongest justice system of earth on that time, failed to capture them and meanwhile they crossed the most dangerous sea “Grand Line” and gained superb wealth and fame. The whole world vowed before them and respected them. The Pirate King was named Gold Roger.

But what goes up must come down. I won’t tell how but they were finally captured and the Pirate King was executed in front of public. This action was taken to create fear in peoples’ heart. It was as if they were saying, “We caught the greatest pirate ever, so all the other people should take this as a warning and stop being an outlaw.”

But it is the Pirate King we are talking about. He did not fear death; instead he smiled and turned the table around by saying, “My treasure?  Why, it’s right where I left it. It’s yours if you can find it……but you will have to search the whole world.” What was meant to be an event of “Warning” became an event of “Inspiration”. The Pirate Era began. (This all explained in the first page of the manga)

Now you know why Luffy’s childhood dream is to become the pirate king. So I will explain the most interesting feature that make the manga more interesting. It’s the Devil Fruit. I guess the author realized that there is nothing to write about if it’s only a pirate story, so he added something supernatural into it and that is the Devil Fruit (DF). Eating the DF gives the eater supernatural power and yes you guessed correct, Luffy eats one too. How? I can’t tell you everything but what I can tell is that he turns into a rubber after eating it (don’t worry, I did not tell you a secret. In fact it’s the most common knowledge of the manga). What can he do after eating is also a secret but whatever he does is extra-ordinary for sure.  You must be thinking; if it’s so good then why is it called Devil Fruit?? Well, nothing comes for free. Eating the fruit gives you power but in return it takes away your ability to swim. For a pirate, that’s awful. Another thing you should know that there are thousands of DF in the world but none with the same ability. That is, they are all unique. So there are many people in the sea just like Luffy who are frighteningly strong.

Then there is the “Grand Line”. Know what, I won’t tell you what it is. But it sure is another amazing feature of the manga.

There are many more features. Find out all of them by reading the manga.

Remark:

A teen-aged boy with no ability to swim dreams to become the Pirate King in the Era of the Pirates; hm, interesting. Oh, did I forget to mention that Luffy is an idiot, air-head and a person without common sense. Well sorry if I did.

This is my favorite manga because it’s an all rounder. Why? Here are some reasons:

  • It’s damn funny (sometimes I laughed for hours, so will you)
  • It’s very dramatic (if things can go wrong, they will and they have to face the worst situation)
  • Very engaging fighting (every move can be imagined perfectly without trouble since they are given rational names)
  • Super side stories (every crew member has interesting past, dream and characteristic as Luffy)
  • It’s emotional (when in sea, your crew-mates becomes your life……in some parts I cried :p )
  • Politics (you know, the World Government and its secret motives, other pirates conspiracy, etc)
  • Developing plot (not the good guy beat the bad guy plot, but an actual story where the hero BECOMES stronger and not already perfect like Super Man)
  • Love story (you can get very lonely in the sea so you fall in love but nothing xxx)
  • Many more (for example it’s educational. I learned lots of stuffs about fighting, cooking, navigation and etc.)

Conclusion

Millions of people read it and love it. They all can’t be wrong. I am a huge fan of One Piece so I am doing my part of the job for the community. Trust me, you WILL love it.

Too lazy to read, then just so that you know they have even animated the manga.
